La mujer, de 28 a\u00f1os, se declar\u00f3 culpable de asesinato en segundo grado, manipulaci\u00f3n de un cad\u00e1ver y de intentar influir en un funcionario p\u00fablico.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">CBS News detall\u00f3 que la sentencia se desglosa en 48 a\u00f1os por asesinar a la menor, 24 a\u00f1os por manipular sus restos y 12 a\u00f1os por intentar influir en un funcionario p\u00fablico. La pena se cumplir\u00e1 de manera consecutiva.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">People&nbsp;se\u00f1al\u00f3 que los restos de la ni\u00f1a&nbsp;<strong>Maha Li Hobbs<\/strong>&nbsp;fueron encontrados en la vivienda de Nelson en&nbsp;<strong>Aurora&nbsp;<\/strong>despu\u00e9s de que la abuela materna de la menor llamara al 911 desde otro estado, informando que su hija hab\u00eda hecho declaraciones preocupantes por mensaje de texto y expresando sus temores sobre la seguridad de su nieta. Estos hechos ocurrieron a finales de mayo de 2023.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Cuando la polic\u00eda lleg\u00f3 al apartamento de&nbsp;<strong>Nelson<\/strong>&nbsp;en la cuadra 1000 de South Elkhart Way, ella afirm\u00f3 haber dado a su hija en adopci\u00f3n, pero no pudo presentar documentos que lo respaldaran.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Las autoridades no pudieron verificar de manera independiente la adopci\u00f3n a trav\u00e9s de los registros estatales. La abuela volvi\u00f3 a llamar al 911 dos d\u00edas despu\u00e9s, lo que llev\u00f3 a los oficiales a realizar una segunda visita al domicilio de la sospechosa.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Durante la segunda visita,&nbsp;<strong>Nelson<\/strong>&nbsp;proporcion\u00f3 a los oficiales informaci\u00f3n falsa de manera intencional, lo que llev\u00f3 a su arresto inicial por intentar influir en un funcionario p\u00fablico. Una bolsa con restos humanos carbonizados fue encontrada en un armario de servicios p\u00fablicos en el patio del apartamento, y fragmentos \u00f3seos en cenizas se hallaron en la chimenea.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>Chris Gallo<\/strong>, Subdirector de la Fiscal\u00eda de Aurora, declar\u00f3 que \u201cmientras est\u00e1bamos completamente preparados para llevar este caso a juicio, este acuerdo protege a la familia de&nbsp;<strong>Maha Li<\/strong>&nbsp;de tener que escuchar testimonios dolorosos, horribles y espantosos\u201d.
