La escultura, que rinde homenaje a uno de los h\u00e9roes m\u00e1s importantes de la historia dominicana, fue colocada en reconocimiento a su legado en la defensa de la soberan\u00eda nacional.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>La donaci\u00f3n de la estatua fue realizada por Juan Pablo Uribe, presidente de la Comisi\u00f3n Permanente de Efem\u00e9rides Patrias, en un gesto que busca resaltar la importancia de figuras hist\u00f3ricas como Duverg\u00e9 en el municipio.
