El monto total del fondo<\/strong> de asistencia<\/strong> social, conocido popularmente como \u00abbarrilito<\/strong>\u00ab, va en aumento<\/strong> durante el actual per\u00edodo congresual ya que varias oficinas senatoriales que renunciaron a ese beneficio en el per\u00edodo pasado, ahora lo aceptan porque cuentan con nuevos representantes.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

En cada a\u00f1o del cuatrienio legislativo<\/strong> pasado (2020-2024), el barrilito<\/strong> representaba un gasto<\/strong> anual de 252,852,000 pesos. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

De acuerdo con la ejecuci\u00f3n presupuestaria del Senado<\/strong>, actualizada por \u00faltima vez a finales de noviembre, el monto va en ascenso ya que se aumentar\u00edan<\/strong> m\u00e1s de dos millones de pesos mensuales al integrarse dos demarcaciones que antes no gozaban de ese privilegio: el Distrito Nacional y Santiago<\/strong>. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Al finalizar el actual periodo legislativo<\/strong>, en agosto del 2028, el monto del barrilito<\/strong> por a\u00f1o se ubicar\u00eda en 278,268,000 mensuales. Esa cifra refleja un aumento<\/strong> de 2,118,000 pesos mensuales en comparaci\u00f3n con el pasado cuatrienio.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

El pasado periodo<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n

Para el per\u00edodo 2020-2024, los senadores Faride<\/strong> Raful (Distrito Nacional), Eduardo Estrella<\/strong> (Santiago<\/strong>) y Antonio Taveras (Santo Domingo) decidieron renunciar al barrilito<\/strong> por considerar que los fondos desvirt\u00faan la verdadera funci\u00f3n de un legislador. De los tres, solo el senador<\/strong> Taveras repiti\u00f3 por otro per\u00edodo en la C\u00e1mara Alta.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Los sustitutos de Faride<\/strong> y Estrella<\/strong>, que son los actuales senadores Omar<\/strong> Fern\u00e1ndez<\/strong> y Daniel<\/strong> Rivera<\/strong>, respectivamente, retomaron el barrilito<\/strong> y, por tanto, reciben mensualmente 1,059,000 pesos cada uno, lo que incrementa el monto total del fondo<\/strong> de asistencia<\/strong> social.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Daniel<\/strong> Rivera<\/strong>, el senador<\/strong> de Santiago<\/strong> por el Partido Revolucionario Moderno (PRM<\/strong>), apoy\u00f3 el barrilito<\/strong> desde antes de ser juramentado en su cargo. El legislador ha declarado que Santiago<\/strong> cuenta con una poblaci\u00f3n que sobrepasa el mill\u00f3n de habitantes que diariamente acuden a las oficinas de los funcionarios para solicitar ayudas en materia de educaci\u00f3n, deportes, viviendas o fortalecimiento de las fundaciones en la provincia.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
