Con una Eucarist\u00eda presidida por Mons. Piergiorgio Bertoldi, nuncio apost\u00f3lico en la Rep\u00fablica Dominicana, concelebrada por obispos y sacerdotes, fueron sepultados en la Catedral Nuestra Se\u00f1ora del Rosario, los restos de monse\u00f1or Rafael Le\u00f3nidas Felipe N\u00fa\u00f1ez, obispo em\u00e9rito de Barahona, fallecido el mi\u00e9rcoles 10 de diciembre, a los 87 a\u00f1os.<\/strong><\/p>\n

Durante la homil\u00eda, Mons. Andr\u00e9s Napole\u00f3n Romero C\u00e1rdenas, obispo de Barahona, adem\u00e1s de valorar todo el trabajo pastoral de Mons. Felipe, defini\u00f3 al obispo como un pastor \u201csanto, sencillo y cercano, un formador incansable de sacerdotes, consagrados y laicos, un misionero apasionado\u201d.<\/p>\n

\u201cVivi\u00f3 entre la gente, como hermano en cada pueblo, en cada barrio, en cada comunidad que visitaba, su presencia entre los m\u00e1s pobres, su afecto por los \u00faltimos, su predilecci\u00f3n por los que la sociedad olvida, fueron signos visibles de su espiritualidad\u201d, resalt\u00f3 Mons. Romero C\u00e1rdenas al describir el ministerio sacerdotal y episcopal de Mons. Felipe.<\/p>\n

En honor a la memoria de Mons. Rafael, descrito por\u00a0la alcald\u00eda<\/strong>\u00a0como una\u00a0\u201cfigura pastoral de gran servicio para esta comunidad\u201d<\/em>,<\/em>\u00a0el\u00a0Ayuntamiento de Barahona<\/strong>\u00a0y su Consejo de Regidores emitieron un decreto mediante el cual se declararon tres d\u00edas de duelo municipal, del 11 al 13 de diciembre, y se orden\u00f3 ondear la bandera municipal a media asta en las instituciones p\u00fablicas del municipio.<\/p>\n

La misa exequial cont\u00f3 con la participaci\u00f3n de cientos de familiares, consagrados, laicos, autoridades civiles, militares y gubernamentales de la Di\u00f3cesis.<\/p>\n

Sobre Mons. Rafael Felipe<\/strong><\/p>\n

Naci\u00f3 el 12 de septiembre del 1938. El 25 de marzo de 1965 fue ordenado presb\u00edtero. Designado segundo obispo de Barahona por el Papa san Juan Pablo II el 7 de diciembre del 1999. Recibi\u00f3 la consagraci\u00f3n episcopal el 22 de enero de 2000, iniciando un ministerio episcopal marcado por la cercan\u00eda a los pobres, la promoci\u00f3n de las vocaciones, la atenci\u00f3n a los sacerdotes, el impulso a la evangelizaci\u00f3n y la defensa de la dignidad humana. En el a\u00f1o 2015 pasa a obispo em\u00e9rito. En el 2016 el Papa Francisco lo nombr\u00f3 administrador apost\u00f3lico de la Di\u00f3cesis de San Pedro de Macor\u00eds, hasta el a\u00f1o 2017.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
