Franklin Batallas, de 44 a\u00f1os, enfrenta cargos de asesinato, agresi\u00f3n y posesi\u00f3n ilegal de un arma.<\/span><\/p>\n

De acuerdo con las autoridades,\u00a0<\/span>la noche del 15 de septiembre de 2025 el acusado apu\u00f1al\u00f3 brutalmente a Contreras Linares, de 30 a\u00f1os, mientras se encontraban dentro de un veh\u00edculo cerca de Park Drive y City Island Road.<\/p>\n

Tras el ataque, condujo sin rumbo fijo hasta llegar a un hospital, donde la mujer fue declarada muerta.<\/span><\/p>\n

Durante la lectura de cargos, el fiscal adjunto Che Van-Eer explic\u00f3 que Batallas detuvo el veh\u00edculo en un \u00e1rea apartada de Pelham Bay Park alrededor de las 8:10 de la noche, donde presuntamente atac\u00f3 a la joven en el rostro y el cuello.<\/span><\/p>\n

\u00abEl acusado no llam\u00f3 al 911, sino que condujo haciendo m\u00faltiples giros en U de manera err\u00e1tica antes de finalmente llegar al Hospital Montefiore New Rochelle, donde la v\u00edctima fue declarada muerta\u00bb, indic\u00f3.<\/span><\/p>\n

Aunque Batallas asegur\u00f3 en un inicio que ambos hab\u00edan sido v\u00edctimas de un asalto y que \u00e9l intent\u00f3 defenderse de supuestos atacantes \u2014versi\u00f3n que inclu\u00eda que tambi\u00e9n result\u00f3 herido en un brazo\u2014, las autoridades sostienen que no hay evidencia que respalde ese relato y lo se\u00f1alan como el responsable del crimen.<\/span><\/p>\n

El hombre fue arrestado alrededor de la 1:00 de la tarde del 19 de Septiembre 2025, luego de confirmarse que la v\u00edctima presentaba m\u00faltiples heridas en la cara, el cuello y el cuerpo.<\/span><\/p>\n

Hasta el momento, las autoridades no han esclarecido el motivo del ataque.<\/span><\/p>\n

El caso contin\u00faa bajo investigaci\u00f3n mientras familiares de la v\u00edctima exigen justicia.<\/span><\/p>\n
